How to become a volunteer:
Step One: Tell us about yourself!
Fill out a volunteer information request by providing your name, email address, interests and special skills.
Step Two: Submit a background check.
All volunteers and employees of the Foundation who have direct contact with children, access to confidential information, or access to Foundation funds must complete a criminal background check that shall be repeated, at a minimum, every three years. The fee for the background check is $27.95.
Please note: The Foundation shall not employ or utilize as a volunteer any individual who has been convicted of a crime that (a) victimizes children, (b) is sexual in nature, or (c) involves violence, fraud, or significant theft.
Step Three: Attend a volunteer training course and get started!
Complete your training by attending New Volunteer Training where you will meet members of our staff, complete your volunteer profile, and learn how to begin your volunteer work. New Volunteer Trainings are held quarterly in various locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
