The 2010 Make-A-Wish Gala raises over $600,000 for wishes

Type:  Announcements

Once upon a time, in a breathtaking ballroom in Boston, a community came together to change children’s lives. On March 27th, over 450 guests gathered at the InterContinental Boston for The 2010 Make-A-Wish Gala: A Tale of Wishes.

Liz Brunner of WCVB-TV served as Master of Ceremonies for the fifth annual event. Through words, artwork, and film, children invited audience members to step into the pages of their wish stories.  Drew Lawton, Chairman of the Board, presented the Foundation’s 2010 Community Spirit Award to 103.3 WODS-FM. Since 2004, WODS has generated nearly $1.5 million for children’s wishes by broadcasting the Make-A-Wish Holiday Wish-A-Thon over its airwaves.

During the live and silent auctions, guests composed their own tale of generosity. Every bid supported wishes for future children with life-threatening medical conditions. In total, with sponsorships, ticket sales, and auction bids, Gala supporters raised over $600,000 for the Foundation. The Foundation sincerely thanks all event supporters for writing a new chapter of joy for our children!
